cappo - resilience ep
"One in a bunch of releases from the ubiquitous Cappo this and his first on Main Rock Records. Sadly, this doesn’t feature any production from the amazing P Brothers, who really made Cappo’s “Spaz the World” album for me with their amazing breaks and breakneck beats. However, despite their absent touch of gold (for me anyways) Cappo takes the time though to shine from out of their shadow. Cool like EP this, strengthening Main Rock’s collection of great rapper-producers, along with Baron Samedi.
Basically, it’s Cappo stepping behind the boards, and producing tracks for Lee Ramsey, Mr 45 and his damned self to lace. Starting off with a bizarre 80’s film soundscape it then segues nicely into the guitar-led “Verbal Latitude” where Lee Ramsey spits hard about this and that and himself. “Freedom” another 80’s guitar-led track features Mr 45 where “It’s Going Down” has Cappo himself amongst a few others. Highlight here is the brilliant “Reap What you Sow”, almost Big-Beat and quite stop-start Cappo shows why he’s one of the best in the country.
This is a cool little EP showing off Cappo’s relentless mic skills as well as his productions for others. Yes. "
